I was challenged to write 101 blogs on how we can live healthier lives. As my closest friends know, I LOVE a good challenge (I’m actually still working on a FoodQuest Challenge from 2010…) so here we go!
As I thought about how to begin, and was thinking through topics, the first thing that came to mind is that there is SO much that contributes to, and detracts from, our health. It really is not just a number on a scale. Health can feel really, really complicated. I think that is part of our struggle as a society. We’ve made health complicated and confusing. This YouTube video makes me both chuckle and cringe…
I want to be a resource to you in sorting through all the info out there – the good, the bad, the myths, and help boil it all down into some easy to apply tips and strategies for health – in all areas of your life. I want to help connect you to resources, tools and people that I trust to help you live your healthiest, best life. I am NOT a doctor. I won’t “prescribe” anything. I will share good, old fashioned common sense about living a healthy life simply and easily! I plan to have fun with this and I hope you’ll enjoy the adventure too! My goal is for us to grow together and learn to thrive!
As a health coach, I hold fast to the belief that health is our overall wellbeing. It is a journey that lasts our entire lives, so we don’t “arrive” at “healthy.” Just like any journey, there are going to be hills and valleys, detours, pit stops, and occasionally wrong turns. And again, just like journeys, the more we look at this as an adventure to be lived, the more fun the journey will be! I do not believe that anyone ever achieves optimal health in all areas, all at the same time (at least not for any long period of time).
On this journey called life, I think that part of the fun is figuring out how to delicately find harmony in all areas in a way that brings you joy.
Here are the top areas of health that come to mind for me and some of what will help me fill my 100 future blog posts:
- Mindset
- Fueling our Bodies – food and beverages
- Sleep
- Movement
- Stress
- Relationships
- Purpose / Work life
- Finances
- Community
- Vitamins & Supplements
- Essential Oils
- Environmental Factors
